Aramark Canada is looking for a Dietitian/ Manager Food Services with experience in both Dietetics and of Food Services an opportunity to service a Long-Term Care Facility in the Victoria area.
Reporting to General Manager, the Dietitian/ Manager of Food Services is a dual, full time role: responsible for the food and facilities contract at the site as well as providing nutrition care to all residents with a focus on health, well-being and quality of life. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Job Responsibilities:
Food Services
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified food service experience for residents, visitors and employees.
• Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
• Provides overall direction and manages performance for all Supervisors and front-line employees, ensuring employee development, engagement and compliance with human resource related policies and standards.
• Directs, staffs, and trains food service department regarding food presentation, quality, cost control, and cash handling.
• Responsible for ordering, Inventory, Menu Development, Production Planning
• Follows Union seniority /scheduling standards and policies
• Develops and maintains strong leadership team
Dietetics
• Documents and communicates nutritional care plans to Care Service Teams
• Completes clinical assessments on Residents, including but not exclusive to intake assesment, weight management, dysphasia assessment and wound healing within appropriate scope of practice and liaises with external resources as needed.
• Participates in Resident care conferences, clinical team rounds and acts as a nutritional resource for Residents/Families/Caregivers
• Participates in Food Services, facility committees and educational programs.
• Participates in development and approval of Cyclical menus.
• Participates in and promotes departmental QI initiatives related to resident care and dietetic practice.
• Maintains knowledge of new trends in clinical dietetics via current literature and attendance at educational sessions to enhance his/her knowledge and clinical skills
• Adhere to guidelines of Protection of Person in Care Act.
Qualifications:
• 4-year Bachelors Nutrition degree from an accredited university/college
• Graduate of an accredited Dietetic Internship Program
• Temporary or Full Registration with a provincial Regulatory Body for Dietitians (College of Dietitians of British Columbia)
• Basic Housekeeping/EVS Experience as an asset
• Menu management, balancing a budget and working within assigned operational costs / budget
• Requires a minimum of 5+year’s progressive experience managing operations with financial and operational responsibility for the sites / departments
• Computer savvy with Excel, Word and Outlook
• Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) effectively with clients, customers of the client and support staff.
• P&L accountability and/or contract-managed service experience is desirable.
Compensation:
Salary Range $100-$106K CAD/year
