Overview

Aramark is recruiting a Catering Manager to organize and execute upscale catering services for a prestigious private school in downtown Toronto.  The Catering Manager is responsible to lead all aspects of catering solutions and special events at this educational institution. This position will lead events or catering delivery requests in line with client expectations and service standards. Additionally, this is an opportunity for a creative catering professional to demonstrate their savvy marketing and social media outreach to the downtown Toronto community!  Bring on your creativity!

Job Responsibilities

•    Direct, manage and oversee FOH operations and staff that support the catering department
•    Receive, document, and communicate scheduled events with appropriate departments 
•    Assist clients in planning special events and provide creative solutions
•    Meet with clients one-on-one to discuss larger event details and customized menu selections
•    Responsible for event floor plans, design, purchases, décor, linens, rentals, and staffing
•    Some community outreach via marketing and social media – connecting with students, faculty
•    Conduct post-event inventory ensuring billing accuracy – forward to Operations Manager
•    Day-to-day accurate computer input and documentation pertaining to events is required 
•    Attend weekly meetings with other departments to share updates and operations information
•    Must attend each event to execute service and to ensure complete client satisfaction
•    Ensure compliance with all food, occupational, and environmental safety policies
 

Qualifications

•    3+ years upscale catering and event planning experience is required
•    Diploma or degree in Hospitality or Food and Beverage is preferred
•    Attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to respond to shifting priorities
•    Professionalism and exceptional communication to liaise with clients, families, and guests
•    Previous management experience within a unionized environment is an asset
•    Previous marketing and/or social media outreach experience is a definite asset
•    Knowledge of catering software programs (Catertrax-Caterease) is an asset
•    Computer proficiency is required for day-to-day required input, documentation, and general tasks
•    Excellent interpersonal skills to work with a team from various departments
•    Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or early mornings for pre-scheduled events
•    Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling; Ability to stand for extended periods of time
