Job Description

The Housekeeping, Laundry and Maintenance Lead is responsible for supervising the cleaning and laundry activities of staff at a Long-Term Care facility in Tavistock. The Housekeeping, Laundry and Maintenance Lead is also responsible for performing standard minor maintenance, and ensuring the facility equipment is in proper working order.

Job Responsibilities

• Determine the needs of the clients' operation and ensure that the appropriate Aramark resources are engaged.

• Achieves high standards of quality service, cleanliness and sanitation in accordance with legislative requirements

• Manages a team of 12 staff, scheduling, training, orientation, appraisals; manages call-ins

• Conducts departmental rounds to ensure all safety, emergency, building and support systems are functioning properly

• Coordinates maintenance and repairs with outside contractors for electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, fire panels and alarm systems.

• Ensures outside work is performed such as snow removal, salting, grass cutting, gardening

• Ensures the adequate stock of housekeeping supplies and equipment; conducts inventory counts and places orders as required

• Participates in committee meetings on Infection Control, Quality Management, Occupational Health and Safety

• Participates in budget preparation and control process for 3 departments

• Participates in the “On Call” rotational schedule as required

Qualifications

• Requires 3-5 years of related experience and 1-2years’ experience in a management role.

• Knowledge of facilities, HVAC equipment, building management systems, fire alarm and sprinkler systems

• Ability to manage a budget

• Computer skills including Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook Mail

• Ability to read and interpret building prints and drawings

• Ability to work “on call” during rotational schedule
