Aramark is recruiting a Housekeeping Manager to manage the housekeeping services for a Senior Living facility in Toronto.  Managing and scheduling a team of approximately 20 unionized hourly employees, the Housekeeping Manager ensures the operation complies with Aramark’s standardized program to meet or exceed client expectation, while staying within established budget guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

•    Responsible to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the facility is maintained, adhering to Aramark’s standardized program, PIDAC and OHS regulations
•    Monitor the cleaning of common areas, stairwells, public restrooms, living quarters, and offices to ensure daily operating standards are met
•    Manage routines and make improvements in accordance with operational objectives
•    Responsible for ordering supplies, chemicals and managing inventory levels
•    Responsible to maintain and troubleshoot equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers
•    Enhance team building and manage staffing and performance of subordinates 
•    Establish and maintain positive communication, collaboration, and problem-solving strategies
•    Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all staff, management, residents, and client representatives
•    Provide financial forecasts, monitor spending, and meet or exceed department budget within established guidelines
•    Other duties as required

Qualifications

•    2-3 years previous experience in a similar role in a hospital, long term care or retirement home is required
•    Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning procedures and equipment operation is required
•    Thorough understanding of cleaning chemical agent usage, WHMIS and OHS regulations
•    Understanding PIDAC best practices for infection prevention and control is required
•    Experience managing a unionized workforce is an asset; effective management skills required
•    Ability to work under pressure and to provide quick, effective, and creative solutions to problems
•    Effective capability of implementation, good communication skills, and a sense of teamwork
•    Computer knowledge including MS office – Word, Excel, Outlook Mail is required
•    Integrity, patience, and a high sense of responsibility, work ethic, enthusiasm, and professional dedication

The pay range for this position is $55,000.00 - $60,000.00.
