Job Responsibilities

• Receive cross-training to support both the Dining Services and Facilities Management teams at Kingswood University
• Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
• Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
• Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
• Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
• Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
• General cleaning, including, but not limited to: trash removal; sweeping and mopping floors; vacuuming floors; buffing floors; disinfecting; stripping and waxing floors; window washing etc.
• Ensure all chemicals and cleaners are properly stored in accordance with WHMIS and HSE guidelines
• Attend all safety meetings and participate in client and/or Aramark emergency response procedures
• Contribute to positive workplace culture by helping to train new hires; participating in team activities and events
• Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen

Qualifications

• 1+ years Kitchen Help, Food Service experience considered an asset
• 1+ years janitorial experience considered an asset
• Valid WHMIS and Food Safe (Basic or Advanced), First Aid Certification is an asset
• Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised and unsupervised
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
