Title:  Dietary Aide

Job Description

The Dietary Aide will serve food in dining room on one of the home's four area.  Taking temperatures of the food and recording, serving the food to Residents, cleaning up after the meal, washing dishes and sweeping and mopping floor.

Job Responsibilities

•    Function comfortably in a fast-paced, Resident focused Long Term Care Home.
•    Maintains friendly, efficient, positive customer service demeanor toward customers, clients, and co-workers. 
•    Adaptable to Residents needs.
•    Responsible for serving Resident meals in a dining room by recording temperatures of the food, ensuring proper portion control, serving fluids, wasing dishes, cleaning up the serving station, sweeping and mopping floors.
•    Uses software to record food temperatures and to check Resident diet orders
•    Maintains general knowledge of therapeutic diets to ensure meal orders are processed accurately
•    Works closely with PSW and nurses, and the Food & Nutrition team to ensure accurate patient nutrition
•    Maintains the privacy, safety, and dignity of each Resident by observing client confidentiality and by closely adhering to safety and sanitation standards
•    Maintains compliance with ARAMARK’s standards of operation. Adheres to ARAMARK’s Business Conduct Policy at all times. Maintains all records and reports to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and codes.

Qualifications

•    Previous Long Term Care experience is an asset
•    Experience in food service, as a dietary aide, or in a related field preferred
•    Needs to communicate fluently in the English language, bilingual or multilingual a plus.
•    Ability to stay calm under pressure.
•    Must have a Food Handler Certificate
•    Must be flexible and adaptable to change.
