The Catering Manager is a One Year Contract leadership role overseeing Brock University’s catering program, ensuring exceptional hospitality experiences across campus. This term position is ideal for a dynamic, hands on leader who thrives in event based environments and enjoys shaping service standards, building client relationships, and guiding a high performing team.

Aramark chefs and dietitians are constantly reviewing the latest insights and food trends to find the next culinary innovation and help students discover their love of food. 

 

We partner with you to enhance the student experience, support parents, and collaborate with administration, all while delivering on the expectations of parents and the community. 

Job Responsibilities

•    Catering Strategy & Solutions — Develop customized catering solutions that meet the needs of campus clients and elevate the guest experience.
•    Client & Campus Partnerships — Build strong rapport with university departments, student groups, and external partners to ensure seamless communication and exceptional service delivery.
•    Event Planning & Execution — Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of events of varied size and scope, ensuring consistency, creativity, and quality in every detail.
•    Team Leadership — Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor catering staff, fostering a culture of hospitality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
•    Operational Excellence — Provide clear Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), ensure accurate production and presentation, and maintain compliance with food safety, occupational safety, and environmental standards.
•    Financial Stewardship — Manage catering budgets, monitor food and labor targets, and ensure accurate reporting of revenue, expenses, and receivables.
•    Creative Event Support — Assist clients in planning special events, offering creative, practical solutions that enhance the overall experience.
•    Quality Assurance — Conduct walkthroughs, maintain equipment and work areas, and ensure all catering standards, recipes, and presentation guides are followed.

Qualifications

•    3+ years of catering or events experience, including 1–3 years in a leadership role
•    Strong background in event planning, catering operations, or hospitality management
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
•    Excellent communication skills and confidence working with diverse stakeholders
•    Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team in a fast paced environment
•    Knowledge of current culinary and event trends
•    Ability to work event based hours, including evenings and weekends
•    Food Handlers and Alcohol Service Certifications (or willingness to obtain)
•    Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs

 

Contract Details
This is a one year term position, offering a unique opportunity to lead a high impact campus hospitality program and contribute meaningfully to Brock University’s event experience.

The pay range for this position is $65,000.00 - $72,000.00.
