Aramark is currently seeking Cooks for the Food Services Department at Bishop’s University

 

Position: Cook

Location: Bishop’s University (2600 College Street, Sherbrooke, QC J1M 1Z7)

 

Full-Time Schedule: Variable schedule, 35 to 40 hours per week

Salary: $21.00 to $24.00 per hour, based on experience and to be discussed during the interview

 

Part-Time Schedule: Variable schedule, 15 to 20 hours per week

Salary: $19.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience and to be discussed during the interview

 

Start Date: Immediate

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of food items according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
  • Prepare daily menu items.
  • Set up workstations with all required ingredients and equipment. Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, cutting, and peeling food items.
  • Ensure proper portioning and maintain quality standards in accordance with Aramark requirements.
  • Demonstrate creativity while meeting client expectations and requirements.
  • Help optimize food costs.
  • Participate in meal service.
  • Complete production, temperature, waste, and other required records.
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock management.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards in accordance with applicable legislation, company policies and procedures, and MAPAQ requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in food service or the restaurant industry.
  • Catering experience is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • MAPAQ Food Safety and Sanitation Certificate is an asset.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure during peak service periods.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Positive attitude.

Culinary diploma is considered an asset.

The pay range for this position is $19,00 - $24,00.
