Job Description

A “Senior Houseman” is responsible for coordinating with management to ensure the proper setup, breakdown, maintenance, and cleanliness of rooms, lounges and venue spaces in accordance with ARAMARK standards, safety, and sanitation policies. They are responsible for managing their time on shift to ensure all duties and assignments for the day are completed to the best of their abilities, arranging breaks for their team and making sure work areas and equipment are kept in good order. 

Job Responsibilities

Know and comply with all ARAMARK and client policies and procedures regarding safety, security, and emergencies. 
•    Assures that all housemen report to duty punctually, well-groomed, and in proper attire and is responsible to the conduct and behavior of said staff. 
•    Assists in the development and implementation of duties, apparel, appearance, and conduct of housemen. 
•    Coordinate with other departments when required 
•    Facilitate room setups or flips by reading and understanding floorplans, assigning houseman to required tasks and having a working knowledge of all equipment and room setups. 
•    Performs event change over by providing a full, detail-cleaning of the event space and preparing the space for the next event. The process typically includes: removing trash, cleaning tables, moving tables and chairs, Operable partitions, setting up stage/risers, dance floor, pipe and drape, flags and poles, easels and other equipment as needed.  
•    The shift may also include the use of ride on tow motors and/or pallet jacks. 
•    Provide management with a detailed pass off at the end of shift.  
•    Ensure room set up standards are upheld.  
•    Utilizes time and resources in the most efficient and effective manner possible.  
•    Must work well with fellow employees, as a team member, working toward common goals. 
•    Keep water services and amenity stations (mints, paper, pens) stocked in all meeting rooms. 
•    Provides a safe environment for customers by keeping assigned area free of clutter.  Properly stores and handles chemicals and materials.  
•    Properly stores all materials and equipment at the end of each working shift. 
•    Abides by and upholds overall customer service standards.   
•    Performs other such duties as may be required or directed. 
•    Incumbent will adhere to the collective agreements in effect. 
•    Operating material handling and personnel lifting equipment. 
•    Able to direct others with last minute changes in a fast-paced environment. 
•    Will be required to train other employees, educating them on all aspects of the role. 
•    Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.  
•    Requires working in a position of trust of workplace assets 
•    Hours will vary based on client event needs 


•    Must be able to budget time in an efficient manner to ensure that all rooms are set and ready to go on time.
•    One year of experience of Banquet Setup/Houseman preferred
•    Must be able to read, write and clearly speak in English

•    Steel Toed work boots is required
•    Ability to work Over-Night and weekend shifts.
