Job Description
Aramark is a world leader in the provision of award-winning food services and has an immediate opening for a Residence Dining Manager at the University of Toronto Scarborough campus. Reporting to the Assistant General Manager and working in conjunction with the Executive Chef on a daily basis, the Residence Dining Manager will manage daily food service operations in the Residence Dining Hall and catering. This will include supervision of unionized staff, and helping to plan, organize and direct all aspects of the food service operations on a day-to-day basis within a higher education environment.

Job Responsibilities
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the food services, includes delegating tasks, motivating, and coaching employees as required
• Address operational and staffing concerns; scheduling and filling shifts as needed
• Oversee the flow of day-to-day operations on the floor
• Manage and direct food production planning, waste management, record keeping, follow up, and modification based on business volumes
• Ensure food safety standards and HACCP enforced at all times
• Proactively manage food and labor cost controls
• Recruitment, training, and orientation of staff
• Manage staff related issues such as vacation requests, progressive discipline, and other operational concerns as they arise.
• Responsible for supervising cash handling procedures, balance cash float, safe, verify deposit and random cashier audits
• Complete all safety documentation and leading the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee
• Resolve customer complaints as they arise, escalating to the Assistant General Manager as required

Qualifications
• 2-4 years management experience in a food service environment
• Self-directed with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Previous culinary or production planning experience an asset
• Strong organizational and team building skills
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and motivate unionized team members
• Experience with recruiting, hiring, scheduling and training staff
• Knowledge of Microsoft, Excel, Power Point and Word
• Knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards

The pay range for this position is $52,000.00 - $55,000.00.
