Job Description

LOCATION: Inuulitsivik Health Centre (Puvirnituq), Nunavik

JOB TITLE: Kitchen Helper

HOURS PER WEEK: 84 hours per week (not guaranteed)

HOURLY WAGE: $25.89/hour

WORK PERIOD: 6 to 7 weeks at a time (26 weeks/year)

SCHEDULE: Monday to Sunday

HOURS: 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. = 12 hours per day as per collective agreement (not guaranteed)

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for inventory and supply management of indoor and outdoor storage areas
• Receive and organize merchandise (cargo)
• Assist with food assembly
• Participate in production (pastries and daily meals)
• Assist with serving meals and desserts
• Provide customer service (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
• Assist in vegetable preparation
• Assist in fresh fruit preparation
• Assist and/or perform cooking (breakfast)
• Participate in daily kitchen cleaning
• Clean kitchen equipment (oven, hood, etc.)
• Assist with or perform dishwashing as needed
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards according to company policies
• Take out garbage daily
• Perform any other related duties

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of English is an asset
• Strong respect for Inuit community customs and traditions
• Be vigilant and proactive in operations
• Be cooperative and able to work in a team
• Be sociable and courteous
