Job Description

Aramark offers 14 days on / 14 days off rotation schedule.
After 54 hours worked, the next 30 to 40 hours are paid at time and a half.

Aramark provides a transportation allowance; however, employees must arrange their own transportation to Port-Cartier.

Employees are provided with meals, accommodation in a private room, and access to washer and dryer facilities.

Candidates must reside in Port-Cartier, Sept-Île’s, or the surrounding area. A transportation allowance will be provided.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of food items according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
• Ensure the preparation and production of the daily menu while respecting established quantities and quality standards.
• Set up workstations with all required ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare food by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, cutting, and peeling ingredients as required for production.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude toward guests, consumers, clients, and team members.
• Ensure the quality of food services and contribute to customer satisfaction.
• Always maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures as well as all applicable food hygiene regulations.
• Demonstrate versatility and flexibility to effectively meet operational requirements.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating inventory as required.
• Contributes to the cleaning of equipment, food preparation areas, and workspaces.
• Perform any other related duties as required by operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Professional Cooking (DEP) or equivalent experience.
• Strong foundation in food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Experience working in a remote camp environment is considered an asset.
• MAPAQ Food Safety Certification is considered an asset.
• Ability to meet operational requirements and changing business needs.
• Commitment to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
• Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Positive and professional attitude.

A successful candidate for this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and, where applicable, a vulnerable sector screening. Employment with Aramark is conditional upon results deemed satisfactory by Aramark.
