Job Description

As the Assistant Camp Manager, you will assist the Camp Manager in the operation of the facility, including responsibilities related to guest services, reporting, commissary, kitchen/food services, and housekeeping. Your role will be to effectively manage staff and available resources.

Rotation and Camp Conditions

  • Must be willing and able to travel and work away from home on extended rotations.
  • Two weeks on site, followed by two weeks off.
  • While at camp, most days consist of 10 to 12-hour shifts.
  • Aramark will cover travel costs from your home to the camp and back.
  • Accommodation and meals are provided at no additional cost while at camp.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily site operations.
  • Effectively manage employees through coaching, supervision, and professional development.
  • Ensure guests and clients on site receive exceptional customer service.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and perform other operational financial duties.
  • Order all required supplies and materials.
  • Monitor, train, and schedule employees to ensure the highest level of customer service.
  • Perform reception and administrative duties, including payroll administration, accounting, QuickBooks, and Orissa.
  • Submit daily, weekly, and bi-weekly reports to both the client and Aramark.
  • Maintain effective daily communication through site meetings.
  • Foster and maintain a safety-first culture on site.
  • Conduct all required facility inspections related to kitchen operations, food services, commissary, and housekeeping.
  • Support Human Resources with frontline employee payroll processing and employee concerns.
  • Assist the Camp Manager with inventory control and communicate any issues related to forecasting and inventory levels.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of management experience, preferably in a remote camp environment or within the hospitality/tourism industry.
  • Minimum of three years of administrative experience (WHMIS and/or Food Safety certification is considered an asset).
  • Proven leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Orissa, and QuickBooks.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to work in a unionized environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

The pay range for this position is $60,000.00 - $60,000.00.
