Title:  General Help/Cook

Job Description

We are looking for Cooks/General Help who bring a positive attitude, reliability, a willingness to learn and the motivation to work at a productive pace. Our kitchen operates in a fast-paced production environment, so successful candidates must work efficiently and with a sense of urgency while maintaining our standards for food quality, consistency and safety. We are hiring with Aramark Canada at our Fleming College location in Peterborough, Ontario. 

Job Responsibilities

• For the preparation and service of all Short Order Foods for Breakfast. Lunch and Dinner.
• Cook omelets in front of customers for Weekend Brunch.
• Ensure an adequate supply of food/materials required according to the fluctuations of demand.
• Report all low stock items to the Chef.
• Maintain continual cleaning and sanitizing of surrounding work area.
• Ensure that a sample plate for the Short Order Special is prepared before lunch & dinner service.
• Provide efficient service while maintaining good customer service.
• Ensure that the grill, ventilation hood, and steam table are cleaned daily after service.
• Prepare the food in an appetizing manner, in both taste and presentation.
• Pull out any frozen food needed for service with adequate time frame.
• Assist other stations to do preparation during down time.
• Clean the Stir-Fry area and work station at the end of the day.
• Ensure all necessary condiments are available for customers. 
• Clean the Pot washing machine at the end of the day.
• Adhere to ARAMARK Policies and Procedures
• Adhere to ARAMARK Health & Safety Policies
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Chef/Management.
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guest, customers, clients, co-workers, etc

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in a high-stressed, fast paced environment
• Must be a multi-task, customer oriented person with attention to detail
• Team player
• Experience in food service and cooking preferred
• Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
