Job Description
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Specialist plays a key role in shaping a positive and compliant employee experience across the organization. This position provides hands‑on, expert support across the full range of human resources functions, partnering closely with HR and leadership teams to ensure policies, practices, and people initiatives are aligned and consistently applied.
The Specialist will act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees throughout the entire employee lifecycle, combining strong analytical skills, employee relations expertise, and a solid understanding of HR best practices. This role is instrumental in harmonizing HR processes, driving continuous improvement, and supporting a workplace culture where people can thrive.

Job Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records electronically through the internal HRIS and through the internal filing system
- Process employee life-cycle changes, including terminations, job abandonments, promotions and transfers
- Track and follow-up on any outstanding HR related paperwork
- Draft letters, including disciplinary and employee relations correspondence
- Maintain, monitor, and track various human resources statistics and reports, including Training, Leave of Absences, Seniority Lists, Work Accommodations, Discipline, etc.
- Lead all recruitment activities in unit; creating requisitions, pre-screening and reference checks, and move candidates through the HRIS
- Post internal and external job postings
- Lead the organization, set-up and execution of Job Fairs
- Organize and host orientation sessions
- Assist with HR-related projects
- Manage Employee Engagement initiatives; surveys, events, etc.
- Provide assistance with Health and Safety programs and initiatives
- Participate in investigations, assisting operations with Fact Findings, Resolutions, Investigations and Mediations
Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a Human Resources role
- Post secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to organize, multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality, professionalism and integrity
- Highly pro-active, solution focused with strong work ethic
- Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Keen desire to grow and develop in the field of Human Resources
The selected candidate for this position will need to complete and successfully pass a Criminal Background Check

The pay range for this position is $55,000.00 - $65,000.00.
