The Bartender role receives guidance from the Beverage Captain, the Operations Manager or the Senior Operations Manager. The role of the bartender is to provide exemplary customer service while mixing and serving drink orders and completing cleaning, the set up and tear down of their bar and service area.
Job Responsibilities
- Know, understand, and comply with all ARAMARK and client policies and procedures related to health and safety, security, emergency response, food safety, and sanitation.
- Safeguard company assets and support loss prevention initiatives.
- Maintain a positive, professional attitude in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Utilizes time and resources in the most efficient and effective manner possible.
- Must work well with fellow employees, as a team member, working toward common goals.
- Assist in training and mentoring team members on menu knowledge, service standards, and operational procedures, as required.
- Maintain a valid Smart Serve Certification and comply with all responsible beverage service requirements
- Adhere to all applicable collective agreement provisions and workplace regulations.
- Safely lift and carry up to 35 lbs. and remain standing for extended periods.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events, as required.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and product quality standards, ensuring proper waste disposal practices are followed.
- Address guest complaints and concerns diplomatically, courteously, and professionally, seeking effective resolutions whenever possible.
- Provide guests with detailed information on menu and service offerings and make recommendations based on their preferences and needs.
- Ensure a high level of guest satisfaction by responding promptly and professionally to requests and concerns.
- Anticipate guest needs and provide proactive, attentive service to enhance the guest experience.
- Greet all guests promptly and professionally upon arrival at the bar, always delivering exceptional customer service.
- Verify customer identification to ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements and responsible alcohol service standards.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wine, beer, and specialty drinks, in accordance with recipes and service standards.
- Take guest orders and provide tableside wine sales and service where required.
- Assist with food service by taking and serving food orders as needed.
- Accurately process cash, credit card, and electronic payments using the POYNT POS system while maintaining proper cash-handling procedures.
- Ensure accurate portion control and adherence to established serving standards.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, service tickets, inventory usage, and product spoilage.
- Monitor and replenish bar inventory, completing all required logs and documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of the bar, storage areas, and service stations.
- Replenish bar supplies, including glassware, garnishes, beverages, napkins, and equipment, to ensure seamless service operations.
- Ensure all products and storage areas are properly cleaned, organized, labeled, and stocked.
- Set up and clear tables, reception spaces, and glassware as required.
- Complete all assigned opening, closing, and daily side-work duties.

Essential Function
- MUST be flexible/willing to accommodate irregular schedules, determined by events and/or operational requirements requiring him/her to work evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays, as required.
- Ability to walk freely and frequently, throughout a 200,000 sq. ft. facility to fulfill the responsibilities of this position
- Ability to recognize/identify hazardous situations in the workplace and react accordingly.
- Ability to frequently manipulate and lift objects weighing up to 35lbs.
- Work well under pressure, ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently or within a cohesive team
- Ideal candidate will be available to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications
- 1+ years of bartending experience with a strong knowledge of spirits, wine and mixed drinks.
- Must be of legal drinking age.
- Smart Serve Certification is required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- French language skills are considered an asset.
Education
The pay range for this position is $17.90 - $19.55.
