Job Description
Aramark is looking for a Part-time Registered Dietitian to join our team at the Longterm Care facility at Thompson House.
The Registered Dietitian will be involved in the nutritional care of residents, working in conjunction with other member of the health care team to promote the optimal health and wellbeing of all residents.
Job Responsibilities
The Dietitian's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to,
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Nutritional Care of Residents:
- Nutritional screening, assessment, planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Diet, nourishment, and texture modification recommendations.
- Encourage nutrition intervention to minimize medication use.
- Ensure compliance with Long Term Care standards.
- Quarterly nutrition reviews and participation in resident care conferences.
- Swallowing assessments within the RD's scope of practice.
- Consultation and education for residents and their families.
- Development and monitoring of risk management and quality improvement processes.
- Participation in Home-specific nutritional care initiatives.
- Food Service Provision:
- Menu/nourishment planning and review.
- Ensure menus are nutritionally complete and meet residents' needs.
- Recipe development.
- Assist with policy and procedure implementation in the Food Service Department.
- Committee Participation:
- Attend Professional Advisory Committee and Quality Council meetings as required.
- Staff Education:
- Lead and participate in continuing education and training programs.
- Continuing Education:
- Attend Aramark-sponsored workshops/seminars and other professional development programs.
- Consulting:
- Develop and monitor policies, procedures, and programs.
- Serve as a consultative resource to all staff.

Qualifications
Education:
Degree in Food & Nutrition and a one-year accredited internship or approved masters/ community health program
Membership with the College of Dietitians is required;
membership in Dietitians of Canada is optional.
Experiance:
Minimum of three years of recent work experience in therapeutics, administration, and supervision, preferably in long-term care. Leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential. Swallowing assessment experience is an asset.
Personal: Ability to work harmoniously, maintain high professional and ethical standards, and willingness to take on new challenges.
