Job Description

The Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of food services and related operations while ensuring compliance with quality, food safety, and health and safety standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining strong client relationships, supporting financial performance, and ensuring a high‑quality service experience for all customers. The Operations Manager upholds operational efficiency, contractual compliance, and service excellence.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client leadership while proactively identifying opportunities to enhance or expand Aramark’s services.
  • Maintain coffee machines and water dispensers, including refills, cleaning, and electrolyte management.
  • Develop operational forecasts, analyze variances, and manage the accounting functions related to the operation.
  • Ensure full compliance with all contractual obligations.
  • Oversee daily operational tasks, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling (floats and deposits), and supporting weekly inventory management.
  • Record and analyze financial data, including customer accounts, average check, and food and labour costs.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety policies, procedures, and required activities (e.g., updated safety boards, first aid kit inventory, proper chemical handling, monthly safety talks).
  • Ensure daily temperature logs are maintained for refrigerators and freezers, and monitor equipment repair and maintenance needs.
  • Support the coordination of operational activities and ensure continuity of service during absences or operational needs.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and customers, both verbally and in writing, and produce professional correspondence, summaries, and reports.
  • Strong analytical skills, including knowledge of probability and statistics, and proficiency in inventory control, cash handling, and general computer use.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment in handling confidential information, and the ability to interact with customers in a mature and professional manner.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, deliver excellent customer service, and demonstrate knowledge of employment standards and health and safety legislation.
