Job Description

A buyer procures quality food products and non-food products for businesses. Responsibilities include maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Regular market analysis to predict trends is a key task.

This role also includes meeting with our major client to understand their needs and propose multiple options to meet their requirements, expectations.

 

The salary range for this position is $50,000-53,000. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Research and identify potential suppliers for food/non food products (CPG, smallware, etc.)
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products
  • Stay updated with industry trends and regulations related to food procurement
  • Collaborate with our client to determine product needs and preferences
  • Manage and maintain supplier/client relationships

Qualifications

Education:

  • Education bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as nutrition, or business administration or supply chain management

 

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in food/non food procurement, preferably within the food industry

 

  • Analytical skills to assess market trends, pricing, and supplier performance
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and certifications, such as HACCP and organic labeling
  • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken to effectively communicate with suppliers and internal teams.
