Job Description

The Technical Analyst / POS Support Analyst position is based in Montreal and will be responsible for providing off-site and on-site software application support of all technology systems utilized by Aramark operations and Aramark’s Clients. 
Reporting to the Director of IT will also take day-to-day direction from the on-site Aramark leadership team at Clients. 

An ideal profile is someone with technical expertise in Point of Sales (POS) with industries such as but limited to as retail sales and distribution which includes clothing, sporting goods, apparel, food and hospitality, airline and passenger trains.

Job Responsibilities

•    Fully responsible for proactive support and maintenance around all Point of Sale (POS), Payment Processing and Warehouse Inventory Management systems. 
•    Provides technical support of software applications, interfaces, and any customizations.
•    Monitors support issues, ensures resolution plans and reports progress to management. Provides excellent customer service during all support requests. 
•    Proactively maintains and monitors system status & reacts to issues as they arise. 
•    Work with users to define and evaluate business needs, challenges and inefficiencies that may be resolved through automated solutions. 
•    Analyze, review, document, and alter systems, programs and applications to increase operating efficiency or to adapt to new requirements.
•    Responsible for communicating any defects to vendors and application owners and for coordinating testing and implementation of fixes.
•    Develops and executes software application tests, regression testing and quality assurance strategies and plans.
•    Works closely with vendors and third-party service providers to ensure service levels are being met and risk to the business is minimal.
•    Communicates with site users regarding any system upgrades or maintenance.
•    Participate in technical and functional training classes as necessary or required. 
•    Occasional Travel required between Montreal, Toronto, Halifax, Winnipeg and Vancouver for workshops, testing, validation, troubleshooting and software upgrades.


  • Experience working through Point of Sale & Warehouse Inventory Management Systems Implementation and Software Application Support.
  • 3 plus years of progressively responsible related work experience in the field.
  • Associates Degree in Information Technology Field or equivalent work experience is required. Bachelor’s Degree is desired.
  • Bilingualism in French and English (verbal) is required.

Industry Knowledge

•    Experience with implementing and supporting, cloud-based point of sale (POS) and warehouse inventory management systems (WIMS) software solutions, is required.
•    Experience with Apple iOS, Android OS / Apps and payment processing devices such as Moneris or Freedom Pay.
•    Experience providing technical support for Software Applications, solving client problems directly or through an escalation process, tracking problems within a Help Desk Application until the problem is resolved.
