Are you an experienced and motivated Director of Business Development?  Are you hungry to secure new business, however still patient & persistent enough to get it across the finish line?  Do you bring an understanding and respect for the important role that indigenous people play in our country & the historical fabric of this nation? If so, we invite you to lead our business development efforts for Quebec and Atlantic Canada, in the remote camp, hospitality sector. As our Director, Business Development, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic business relationships, and overseeing the implementation of business strategies. A key aspect of your role will be fostering and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations. Preference will be given to candidates that are fully bilingual in both of Canada's official languages.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify and explore new business opportunities to increase revenue and profitability.

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans.

  • Manage and nurture key relationships with clients, partners, and Indigenous communities.

  • Prepare and present business proposals and pitches to potential investors, clients, and Indigenous organizations.

  • Analyze the company’s competitive landscape and market trends to forecast business goals.

  • Oversee the development of a business development team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.

  • Manage the company’s business development budget and expenditures.

  • Develop and maintain relationships at the ‘C Suite’ while understanding and communicating prospective opportunities.

  • Represent the company in the marketplace through industry conferences, professional associations, and events.

  • Build relationships personally with prospective C-Suite customers to ultimately develop a coach for all new initiatives.

  • Foster relationships with Indigenous communities, understand their needs and ensure our business practices respect and align with their values.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. A finance degree with at least five years of “high end” strategic selling and M&A experience is desirable.

  • Prior hospitality services experience and/or operational experience is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM, all Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat is required.

  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and a deep understanding of Indigenous culture and values.

  • Preference will be given to candidates that are fulling bilingual in both English & French.
