Aramark is looking for a Sous Chef for the Food Service Department of the National Bank Executive Lounge in Montreal.

  • Position : Sous Chef
  • Location : National Bank : 800 St-Jacques Street, Montreal, QC H3C 1A3
  • Schedule / Hours : Monday to Friday, daytime hours
  • Start Date : As Soon as possible

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef in leading a high-volume kitchen team of over 50 employees.
  • Deliver exceptional flavors and high-quality culinary offerings to guests.
  • Coach, train, mentor, and develop a dedicated and passionate kitchen team.
  • Foster a respectful and inclusive work environment that supports individuals from all backgrounds and enables them to reach their full potential.
  • Promote employee engagement and retention through training, recognition, and ongoing coaching.
  • Effectively manage budgets and actively participate in kitchen management activities.
  • Ensure smooth daily operations, service excellence, and compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Prepare and execute high-volume catering services.
  • Demonstrate experience in catering production and preparation.
  • Show creativity while meeting client expectations and requirements.
  • Ensure the quality of food services and customer satisfaction.
  • Optimize food and labor costs.
  • Ensure compliance with management, health, food safety, and sanitation programs.
  • Monitor service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in inventory management and purchasing activities.
  • Contribute to menu development for various food service concepts.
  • Supervise employees.
  • Work a daytime schedule, Monday to Friday.
  • Be available occasionally for evening events.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in food service or the restaurant industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in catering preparation and execution.
  • Experience managing and supervising employees (strongly preferred).
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and motivation.
  • Ability to foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Passion, energy, professionalism, and a positive attitude with contagious enthusiasm.
  • Excellent stress management skills, with the ability to remain calm and maintain high performance in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to uphold exceptional service standards while managing high guest volumes.
  • Strong discipline and process-oriented mindset, capable of working effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a methodical and detail-oriented approach.
  • MAPAQ Food Hygiene and Sanitation Certificate (an asset).
  • Diploma in Restaurant Management, Dietetics Technology, Institutional Cooking, or equivalent experience.

The pay range for this position is $60,000.00 - $63,000.00.
