Job Description
As our Director of Total Rewards and HR Operations, you will lead the strategy and provide a hands-on approach to implementing and managing all aspects of employee compensation, pension and benefits. As a subject matter expert in this role, you will develop and implement strategies to ensure a competitive and attractive total rewards package. You will also guide and inspire the team in our Canadian HR service centre. You will oversee this team and ensure compliance with relevant legislations. You will report directly to the Vice President of Human Resources and will lead a team of 5 initially. Job Responsibilities
Total Rewards Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive total rewards strategy that aligns with the organization’s goals, including compensation, benefits, and recognition programs.
Compensation, Benefits and Pension Management: Oversee the design, administration, and maintenance of compensation, pension and benefits programs, including base pay, variable pay, the Defined Contribution Pension Plan and our benefits offerings.
Leave of Absence administration: Responsible for administration of all leaves of absence including the occupational and non-occupational disability leave programs.
HR Operations: Manage HR systems (SAP SuccessFactors, Kronos, Service Now) and processes, ensuring accurate data, efficient workflows, and effective reporting.
Compliance: Maintain compliance with all relevant labour laws regulations and company policies related to compensation, benefits and HR Operations.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors for benefits administration, HR systems and other relevant services.
HR Service Centre: Develop the vision and strategy for a best-in-class, customer service-oriented HR Service Centre that will act as a central point for employees on HR administrative matters throughout the employee life cycle, including transactions, policies, practices, and procedures. Ensure HR team effective adoption of ServiceNow for all Tier II activities.
New Business: Participate in the RFP process to acquire new business as well as any mergers and acquisition activity, including providing recommendations for total rewards programming and the integration of newly acquired employees into current pension and benefit programs.
Employee Engagement: Partner with other HR teams to ensure total rewards programs are aligned with broader HR and business strategies, and to promote employee engagement and retention.
Data Analytics: Analyze data to assess the effectiveness of total rewards programs and make recommendations for improvements.
Communication and Training: Develop and deliver communication and training materials on total rewards programs to employees, managers, and other stakeholders.
Team Leadership: Supervise and develop the team responsible for total rewards and HR Operations.
Partners with IT Team: Partners with IT team to ensure HR systems are optimized.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related field.
- CCP (Certified Compensation Professional), Global Remuneration Professional (GRP) and/or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience required, including 5+ years in total rewards leadership capacity.
- Strong project management, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability of establishing and maintaining partnerships with company executives, management and key stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively cross functionally.
- Demonstrated business acumen, and the ability to clearly define, implement, communicate process improvements and solutions.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Advance Excel skills, including the ability to build and maintain complex models.
