Job Description
We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to support the management and growth of key Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) food categories within our national foodservice business. This role will have responsibility across categories such as frozen potato, entrées, appetizers, prepared meals, and other food products, with a focus on creating value through effective category strategies, sourcing initiatives, and supplier partnerships.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, you will help translate business needs into commercially sound procurement strategies. The role offers the opportunity to work across a large, complex enterprise supporting our divisions Aramark, CPS, Quasep, and Avendra, while balancing the needs of diverse stakeholders and delivering measurable financial value.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category strategies that address business needs, market opportunities, and financial objectives across the Canadian enterprise.
- Lead sourcing initiatives, including RFPs, new product sourcing, supplier evaluations, and commercial negotiations.
- Identify and execute opportunities to deliver cost savings and other financial value for stakeholders.
- Negotiate, prepare, and support the execution of supplier contracts.
- Build effective relationships with suppliers and lead supplier business reviews to drive performance, innovation, and mutual opportunities.
- Coordinate national pricing and support the successful implementation and launch of contracted products.
- Ensure supplier and category compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Culinary, Account Management, Finance, Data & Analytics, Sustainability, and other enterprise stakeholders.
- Lead meetings and effectively communicate recommendations, decisions, and project outcomes to both internal and external audiences.
- Provide ongoing operational support for assigned categories while maintaining a strong focus on strategic priorities.
Qualifications
- College or university graduate in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in foodservice, food retail, food manufacturing/supply, or food distribution, preferably within a multi-unit or national organization.
- Procurement and/or supply chain experience is an asset.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with proficiency in Excel and data.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with suppliers, distributors, and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to understand competing business requirements and translate them into practical procurement solutions.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and decision-making skills, particularly when working with financial and commercial information.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of initiatives, and demonstrate a high level of accountability.
- Confident self-starter who is comfortable leading discussions, presenting recommendations, and working with stakeholders at various levels.

The pay range for this position is $72,000.00 - $80,000.00.
