Job Description
The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) plays a critical role in leading financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis activities for key business units in Canada. This role partners closely with business leaders to ensure accurate revenue and expense planning, develop insightful analysis to drive business decisions, and manage financial risks and opportunities. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical acumen with team leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Job Responsibilities
Revenue Forecasting & Analysis
- Present monthly results to CPS and GPO finance leadership.
- Revise and present the CPS monthly revenue forecasts considering the various inputs impacting the business. Monitor risks and opportunities, their timing and identify potential mitigants.
- Support the update of the monthly NVD forecasts for the managed service (MS) business line.
- Own the financial management of the Client Incentive Program. Collect inputs from sales and operations team to forecast accruals. Analyze actuals and ensure adequate accruals are maintained.
Expense Management & Budgeting
- Lead the preparation of Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and periodic expense forecasts across various functional areas.
- Track actual spending against budget, identify variances, and provide recommendations to control costs and improve efficiency.
- Monitor overhead and operational costs, including supply chain-related expenses, and recommend corrective actions when needed.
- Support ongoing OPEX reviews and productivity initiatives in collaboration with department heads.
Financial Reporting and Business Partnering
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
- Translate financial data into clear insights and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Serve as a finance business partner to key departments, helping them understand financial implications and optimize performance.
- Maintain integrity of financial data and ensure alignment with corporate reporting standards and adherence to applicable internal controls.
Team Leadership and Development
- Manage and develop a team of two Finance Analysts, providing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively while fostering a culture of ownership, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance on complex financial models, data validation, and report automation.
- Promote team learning through exposure to broader business and finance initiatives.
Support and facilitate ad-hoc financial and performance reporting requests for CPS Management Team, SC team, and CPS/GESPRA Key Account Managers as required.
Qualifications
- Strong business acumen with a track record of building forecasts and models linked to key business drivers.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is an asset.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting
- CPA, CFA or MBA preferred.
Experience
5-7 years in a progressive finance role in FP&A or accounting, including 1–2 years in a people management role.
