Job Description
The Director, GPO & SCM Strategy provides strategic leadership across Aramark Canada’s Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) initiatives. This role is responsible for developing and executing strategies that enhance growth, value creation, and operational alignment across Complete Purchasing Services (CPS), Avendra, Quasep, and Aramark Supply Chain.
The position is highly cross-functional and client-facing, requiring direct engagement with senior leadership teams, supplier partners, and customers to deliver measurable financial and strategic results. The Director will also play a key role in shaping future GPO strategy, driving partnership development, and leading potential acquisition initiatives to expand Aramark Canada’s market presence and value proposition.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead GPO and SCM strategic initiatives that align with enterprise objectives and deliver measurable business value. Drive collaboration across CPS, Avendra, Quasep, and Aramark Supply Chain to strengthen purchasing leverage, compliance, and total delivered cost efficiency, while achieving $5M in annual margin improvement across a combined $2B spend portfolio.
- Serve as a key client-facing leader, representing the SCM and GPO organizations in client business reviews, strategic forums, and industry events. Lead the Client Advisory Board to ensure client needs and insights drive measurable outcomes, including $20M in annual savings and demonstrated GPO value delivery.
- Lead the Supplier Advisory Board to strengthen supplier partnerships, promote innovation, sustainability, and DEI objectives, and align supplier strategies with organizational growth and compliance goals.
- Identify and execute opportunities for GPO acquisitions and strategic partnerships, including evaluation, business case development, and integration planning, driving $50M in incremental GPO revenue and purchasing spend.
- Support the development and execution of long-term supply chain and sourcing strategies, ensuring alignment with GPO performance metrics, sustainability commitments, and client retention initiatives.
- Collaborate across CPS, Avendra, and Quasep leadership to design and communicate unified GPO positioning, enhance client value propositions, and identify shared efficiency or growth initiatives.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related discipline).
- MBA or Master’s in Supply Chain, Strategy, or related field preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or GPO leadership within a large-scale organization.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives that deliver measurable savings and revenue growth.
- Experience in supplier partnership management, sourcing strategy, and market development.
- Demonstrated success in client-facing roles presenting to executive-level audiences or advisory boards.
- Experience evaluating and supporting acquisition or partnership opportunities is an asset.

Working Conditions

- 10–15% travel required across Canada and the U.S. for client, supplier, and leadership meetings.
