In this exciting role, you'll be the friendly face of our Human Resources Service Centre for Canada, ensuring our employees have the support they need. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to HR Inquiries: Be the go-to person for all HR-related questions and requests, providing prompt and helpful responses.
  • Ensuring Policy Compliance: Keep our operations running smoothly by following and upholding our HR policies and procedures.
  • Leveraging HRIS: Use our Human Resources Information System to manage employee data and enhance HR processes.

This position is based out of Aramark Canada’s head office: 5150 Spectrum Way, Suite 200, Mississauga, Ontario L4W 5G2

To be considered, applicants must be fully fluent in both French & English. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of ESA leaves, sick days, and vacation time within the HRIS system.
  • Provide support to managers and the HR department on all HRIS inquiries for all aspects of the employment lifecycle, including by not limited to job requisitions, job descriptions, job postings, criminal background checks, and onboarding. 
  • Post employee transactions such as leaves/layoffs, position organization chart changes, employee record updates and terminations.
  • Maintain and lead all tickets from the Human Resources Service Centre and ensure they are categorized correctly and assigned appropriately.
  • Assist in maintaining HR content, knowledge articles, Dashboard, reporting and workflows within the ServiceNow portal.
  • Prepare HR communication using HR templates and amending language as appropriate for next level review.
  • Ensure mail merges of mass communication letters and review for accuracy.
  • Support the involuntary termination process by ensuring completion of all termination activities. 
  • Support the province of Quebec with all HR general inquiries.
  • Support the HR Operations team with time sensitive pay period close activities.
  • Maintain the HR Operations tracker for all tracking related items.
  • Provide consultation to managers on interpretation of policies and legislation and provide support to ensure compliance. 
  • Assist managers in the resolution of general employee relations matters by providing guidance, tools, resources, support and recommendations to ensure fairness and consistency of policies and processes.
  • Escalate complex and high-risk matters to the relevant HR managers and leaders and provide support as required
  • Provide recommendations on HR administration, and process 
  • Required to ensure the upmost confidentiality of people and payroll information
  • Review French communications and resources for accuracy
  • Review and manage workflows in the HRIS system
  • Conduct risk assessments and cost calculations for termination packages, prepare necessary documentation (including termination letters), and update the system and payroll accordingly.
  • Assist with HR projects and initiatives as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field is required
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in Human Resources / HR shared service role
  • Knowledge of current legislation (Employment Standards, Human Rights, Labour Relations, Occupational Health & Safety and experience working across provincial/territorial and federal employment laws
  • Preferred Experience with an HR Ticketing system  (preference will be given to candidates with experience with SAP Success Factors)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
  • Fact-based approach to problem solving; able to communicate with tact and diplomacy
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to influence others on policies, practices and procedure.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to analyze information.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and highly personal information on a daily basis and maintain confidentiality in a mature and non-judgmental, unbiased manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, Power point and working knowledge of HR systems
  • Fluency in both French & English is required (read, write & speak)
