Job Description

The Chef Catering Manager will be responsible for delivering top-tier food service and meeting customer needs during events at Red River Exhibition Park in Winnipeg, MB. This full-time position requires a flexible schedule based on event needs, with hands-on management of a team of 5-10 employees during events and catering operations. The Chef Catering Manager will drive sales through innovative food offerings, promotional efforts, and exceptional customer service. They will ensure the achievement of budgetary goals are met, while focusing on team development, safety, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Flexibility to work a variable schedule based on events, which may not be five days a week and could involve long days, including weekends and evenings. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding catering solutions to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Develop and design creative menus tailored to the needs of the location.
  • Implement company initiatives in food quality, service, and safety to a high standard.
  • Build and expand catering business opportunities.
  • Oversee staff performance, ensuring quality production, merchandising, cost control, and labor management.
  • Recruit, train, and develop team members to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Identify and nurture talent within the team.
  • Ensure all sanitation and food safety standards are strictly followed.
  • Monitor financial performance to achieve both company and client goals.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across all business sectors.
  • Maintain records in compliance with Aramark and government regulations.
  • Adhere to company Marketing and Human Resources programs.
  • Uphold Aramark policies, procedures, and Health and Safety standards.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of management experience in a fast-paced food service environment.
  • Drivers License
  • Catering experience is preferred.
  • Culinary qualifications or strong cooking skills are required.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of corporate marketing and promotional strategies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with menu costing, planning, and food preparation.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills.
