Job Description

We are hiring for our management team with Aramark at Queen's Hopsitality Services on Queen's University main campus in our catering department. 

As a valuable member of the Queen's Hospitality Services Catering team, you will be responsible for delivering championship fan service and event execution to guests and clients during a variety of events and services. 

The Hourly Catering Supervisor is responsible for the daily coordination and supervison of our various catering events and services on campus. 

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee catering events and other services, depending on business needs.
• Prepare and organize setup outlines, production sheets, and seating plans.
• Ensure pre- and post-service tasks are completed and staff are assigned sections and duties.
• Lead and liaise with the kitchen and client to ensure excpetional service to the dining room.
• Ensure order discrepancies are quickly resolved in a calm and professional manner.
• Supervise the floor during the event/during service; respond to client & guest concerns.
• Ensure opening and  closing duties are completed with attention to detail.
• Document service issues and resolutions.
• Lead by example and provide ongoing coaching/training / motivation to staff.
• Adhere to Aramark  service standards and policies.
• Follow all Aramark Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Supervisor accurate adherence to Aramark's time and attendance procedures. 
• Ensure staffing level consistent with established guidelines and make daily adjustments based on business needs. 
• All employees to be trained according to company standards for safety, health, and sanitation procedure

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of event experience, catering/banquet preferred.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Smart Serve certification required.
• Deep understanding and practical knowledge of restaurant business principles and service etiquette.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Effective team management experience.
• A dedicated approach toward day-to-day activities and shifting demands.
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and wine.
• An aptitude for identifying and assessing details.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Shown to perform well under pressure; handle multiple priorities at a time.
• An ongoing awareness and responsiveness to client satisfaction.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
