Join our Team at Queen's Hospitality Services!  The positions we have open are part-time with flexible hours with Aramark Canada Ltd at one of our residence dining halls on Queen's University main campus.

Our food service team provides exceptional dining experiences by creating genuine and sincere connections with our guests. They are a part of a dynamic service team that works together to deliver unforgettable food, drinks and service to ensure every guest leaves happy.

Pay and Perks

• $20.00/hr. + 4% vacation pay in every pay in lieu of paid time off

We are looking for individuals that are passionate about Food, Hospitality, and are Guest focused as well as being a strong and motivating team player.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide a welcoming smile and genuine hospitality
• Get to know our Guests and enhance their personal experience while flawlessly executing our steps of service
• Adhere to all safe food safety and handling procedures
• Abide by Food Safety regulations and best practices
• Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
• Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
• Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
• Understand what is inclusive of a meal
• Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
• Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
• Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
• Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and other meal options
• Add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
• Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
• Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
• Adhere to the uniform policy
• Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
• Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
• Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment; duties include sweeping, moping, ware washing
• Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
• Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
• This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a server and working on the frontline in a restaurant is an asset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Energetic and self-confident with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work a flexible schedule (i.e. days, nights, weekends)
• Team Player - help contribute to a positive guest experience however necessary
