Title:  Bakery Production Worker

Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic Bakery Production team members to compliment our bakery production team at Aramark with Queen's Hospitality Services. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for innovative and high-quality baking, preparing and presentation of cookies, muffins, desserts and other bakeshop items. This role involves ensuring adherence to food safety standards. The Baker will play a vital role in maintaining the companies reputation for excellence while fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Bake and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
• Set up work station with all needed ingredients and equipment
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, etc.
• Knead, bake, glaze, frost, and use a variety of baking and preparation methods
• Safely use a variety of utensils and equipment including knives, ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
• Be responsible for reading production schedules and recipes, measuring and mixing ingredients, mold and shaping dough and processing everything through the ovens
• You'll also work along with your team to keep the bakery clean
• Reports all equipment issues to the supervisor or manager in a timely manner
• Understands and follows all safety procedures that apply to daily operations
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Ensures security of company and client assets

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a baker, in baking production or in a related role preferred 
• Proven knowledge of baking methods, standards, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage
• Ability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.

Physical Requirements

• Continuous standing/walking for all tasks
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 22 kg 
• Frequent turning and reaching
• Constant use of both hands, with frequent wrist rotation and flexing, occasional forceful gripping
• Occasional pushing, pulling and some forward bending
• Ability to lift at least 2.5 kg to a height of 1.7 metres

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
