Job Description
Seasonal Hourly Catering Lead position is a key role in our Catering Team.
Under general supervision of the Catering Manager, Catering Leads are responsible for assisting with all food and beverage services and quality throughout the catering department, including backstage catering, VIP events, bar service, in-house dining, team services etc.
They will be responsible for training new employees, overseeing event set-ups, service executions and teardowns, transporting equipment and food to in-house event spaces, and ensuring all Aramark Catering brand standards and initiatives are consistently achieved.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and execute banquet and catering events with initial direction from Catering Manager
Be a hands-on Lead providing guidance to the catering team with positive motivation and effective communication
Monitor and take corrective action to ensure service complies with Aramark policies and procedures, as well as Health and Safety Standards
Oversee and assist in all event set-ups and teardowns
Assist in the delivery of events and hospitality in multiple locations, by following the Banquet Event Orders and Riders
Maintain all serving schedules as stipulated on the Banquet Event Orders; ensure that all food items are delivered and served in a timely manner
Ensure tables, buffets, bars and service areas are kept clean and set accordingly based off Aramark Catering standards and proper procedures
Complete supervisory tasks as required, as well as ensuring all staff follow and execute opening & closing duties
Uphold and Maintain food production, that ensures the safety and quality of food according to policies, procedures, and department requirements.
Ensure that food items are stored in a safe, organized, and hazard-free environment.
Ensures all catering storage areas are kept clean and organized
Maintain equipment and all other catering supplies
Ability to understand and follow directions from the Manager/Director
Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, or carry items up to 50lbs
Ability to walk or stand for extended time periods
Maintain and implement daily and monthly inventory counts, shift briefs, stock shortages, maintenance and wastage records
Involves working with chemicals, heated equipment, steam and other risk conditions
May be responsible for opening and closing of events during irregular hours unassisted

Qualifications
1-year supervisory experience required
Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions in English
Strong time management and organizational skills
Strong Communication & Organizational Skills
Ability to maintain emotional control in high-stress situations
Excellent Guest Service Skills with managing VIP Clientele and ability to work in a team environment Flexible schedule to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays for NHL Hockey
games, Ottawa Charge Hockey games, backstage catered events for concerts and other catered events as required
Enjoys working in a lively, fast-paced environment
Well-groomed and professional attire (follow Aramark standards for uniform and grooming)
Ability to perform basic arithmetic
Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel)
Must be SMART SERVE Certified
Knowledge and previous experience with Micros Point of Sale System and Eigen payment Systems is an asset

The pay range for this position is $21.75 - $21.75.
