Title: Catering/Setup Supervisor

Job Description
Responsible for the supervision, training, and management of the food service operation. Ensure that appropriate quantities of food are prepared and served.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the daily operations involving set up of rooms for all functions
- Must review all contracts to ensure all details of the set up requirements are met and not missed on the map and contract provided. This includes equipment requirements like AV etc.
- Will be in charge of all maps and contracts assigned and will delegate responsibilities to set up staff to ensure the set up requirements of each setting are being met.
- Acts as the “eyes” in a room, looking at the final details that make a room appear flawless (example, checking for dirty or uneven skirting, spots on furniture, items missing)
- Will familiarize his or herself with standard room set ups and standard buffet menus in order to ensure the room is set up to anticipate the needs of the customer and serving staff
- Will make sure that every job is completed in a satisfactory manner
- Will liaise with the TRU Conference Centre to discuss contracts, client requests, and set-up requirements
- Will attend Catering Meetings. As well as Manager meetings
- Will do routine tours of the CAC building and any storage units to ensure equipment/furniture is put away in its’ proper place, as well as kept in an orderly fashion, this includes the AV room, linen room and glass room. Any broken equipment or furniture should be fixed ASAP. If it cannot be fixed by yourself or set up staff it must be reported to the set up manager and or the catering manager.
- Will report to your manager if any supplies need replenishing. Supplies include flipchart pads, markers, batteries for microphones, cutlery, china, glassware, skirt clips etc.
- Will work to complete routine maintenance of rooms and other jobs assigned by set up manager, catering manager & ancillary when there is extra time during a shift.
- Must complete a declaration sheet for every room that is set up or work project assigned. This sheet must include the time spent on setting up each room and or performing each function for billing purposes.
- Reviewing declaration sheets and making sure that all hours spent setting a room has been accounted for.
- Must lock and secure all rooms when work is completed (if room is not in use) and is responsible for security of buildings the set up crew is working in.
- Must ensure that AV equipment that has been borrowed from the conference office must be returned. If the Conference office is not open the equipment must be locked in the AV room or room 123.
- Set up of catering service according to client/customer requests and banquet vent orders
- Serves food and beverage to guests
- Maintains appearance and cleanliness of food service areas during event
- Replenishes food and beverage product during event
- Breaks down and cleans food service areas and equipment post vent; returns equipment to proper storage area
- Provides excellent customer service, anticipating guests’ needs
- Maintains a positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
- Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation

Qualifications
- Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions
- Must complete a sanitation course either before or during the first year as a lead
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- Ability to resolve interpersonal situations
- Strong organizational skills
Minimum Education/Certification - High School Diploma/GED
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
