Title: Team Lead - SMU Retail Dining

Job Description
We are seeking a Team Lead to join our Retail Dining team at Saint Mary's University!
The Team Lead will float between Tim Horton's and Starbucks on the Saint Mary's University campus, overseeing the opening of each location and supporting team members across both locations.
In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll step in where needed most— overseeing workflow, providing guidance to team members, and supporting rush periods while fostering a positive, cooperative team environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Assures quality, courteous customer service is provided to all guests
- Oversees the operation and personnel workflow in absence of the Supervisor/Manager
- Train and develop personnel as required
- May support inventory and ordering
- May perform outlet opening or closing
- May support with monthly location audits, (boards, First Aid Kits)
- May assist with weekly inventory as required
- May complete reports for occupational/non-occupational illness or injury
- Ensures cleanliness of operation
- Ensures adherence to franchise and company standards
- Ensures proper use, storage and handling of chemicals on-site
- Assists with any onsite promotions and advertising
- Monitors cash handling procedures
- Balances cash float and verifies deposit and safe
- Handles customer service complaints with assistance from Manager/Supervisor
- Covering and ensuring breaks and lunches are given
- Perform other job duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 1-2 years’ experience working in hospitality industry required
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in a leadership role, either as an individual contributor or people manager required
- Experience with POS systems and cash control procedures
- Skilled in prioritization of tasks and time management
- Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised and unsupervised
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments.
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The pay range for this position is $21.06 - $21.06.
