Job Description
We are seeking Baristas to join our team at Starbucks on the Dalhousie University campus! As a Starbucks Barista, you are the face of our store. Every day, you’ll connect with customers, craft personalized beverages, and bring a little extra warmth to someone’s routine.
You don't need prior coffee experience to succeed here—we’ll teach you everything you need to know about brewing, steaming, and espresso mechanics. What matters most is your energy, team spirit, and passion for making people feel welcome.
Job Responsibilities

Craft & Serve: Prepare high-quality coffee, tea, and espresso beverages, as well as food items, following Starbucks recipes and standards.

Create Connections: Welcome customers genuinely, take orders accurately, and build rapport with regulars to deliver a great experience every visit.

Maintain the Space: Keep the bar, seating area, and customer spaces clean, stocked, and organized according to health and safety standards.

Support the Team: Collaborate with fellow partners (employees) during busy rushes, staying positive and adaptable.

Handle Transactions: Register operations, cash handling, and processing mobile or drive-thru orders efficiently.
Qualifications
- Previous food service experience is an asset
- Experience working with Starbucks or similar specialty-coffee franchise an asset
- Valid WHMIS and Food Safe (Basic or Advanced), First Aid Certification is an asset
- Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene.
- Additional certification may be required by work location
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised and unsupervised
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The pay range for this position is $16.75 - $16.75.
