Job Description
Dalhousie Food Services is seeking professional, guest-focused Bartender to join our casual events team. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy delivering exceptional hospitality at a wide range of events, from receptions and conferences to formal sit-down dinners.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide courteous and attentive service to all guests during events.
- Mixes and serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
- Adheres to cash handling policies
- Serve hot and cold food items in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with light event set-up, including arranging tables, linens, service stations, and equipment.
- Support event tear-down, ensuring spaces are cleaned, organized, and restored appropriately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas throughout events.
- Follow all food safety, alcohol service, and workplace safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and guests to ensure smooth event operations.
- Perform any additional duties commonly associated with catering service roles, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be of legal age to serve and handle alcoholic beverages in Nova Scotia.
- Must be able to obtain all Aramark and state/local required alcohol service certifications
- Smart Serve certification or equivalent responsible beverage service training is considered an asset.
- Prior sit-down dining or banquet service experience is an asset but not required.
- Strong customer service skills and a professional, positive attitude.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs.
