Title:  Food Services Supervisor - Gorsebrook Lounge

Are you an energetic team leader who loves the fast-paced atmosphere of campus dining? Aramark is looking for a Food Services Supervisor to lead culinary and food service operations at The Gorsebrook Lounge, Saint Mary’s University’s premier student hub and eatery!

In this role, you’ll be the driving force behind superior food execution, exceptional customer service, and smooth kitchen-to-floor operations.

This position oversees food service operations only (kitchen production, food preparation, menu delivery, and dining room service). Beverage and bar management are independently handled by the Saint Mary's University Students' Association (SMUSA).

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operations for the food service and operations on the floor
• Meet daily with the Manager to discuss operational and staffing concerns
• Supervise and direct food production planning, waste management and record keeping
• Proactively manage food and labour cost controls
• Assist with recruitment, training, staff orientation, scheduling and filling shifts as needed
• Assist Manager with managing team performance
• Supervise cash handling procedures, balance cash float, safe and verify deposits
• Ensure food safety standards and HACCP are always followed
• Resolve customer complaints as they arise, escalating to the Manager as necessary
• Follow the Operational Excellence fundamentals by maintaining food and labor initiatives 
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers and employees 
• Follow all policies, rules and regulations relating to safety, health, wage and hour

Qualifications

• 3+  years' leadership experience experience required 
• 1+ years' food services experience required
• 1+ years' working as a Server required
• Extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards considered an asset
• Strong organizational and team building skills with the ability to coach and motivate team members
• Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Flexible schedule as some evening, weekend, and/or holiday work may be required

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
