Aramark is recruiting a Food Service Manager for our culinary operations at a government facility in Halifax.  This is a Monday – Friday day shift that provides breakfast and lunch options for two (2) sites. The Food Service Manager is a management position responsible for developing and implementing dining solutions to meet customer needs and tastes. Oversees and manages dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu.  The Food Service Manager may be required to fill in for or assist the Chef with culinary tasks as required.

Job Responsibilities

•    Manage daily food service operations and team regarding production, quality, and control
•    Plans, directs, and coordinates food service activities in order to deliver a finished product to the customer
•    Fill in for the Chef or assist kitchen staff with food preparation, serving, etc. as required
•    Follow the Operational Excellence fundamentals by meeting and maintaining food and labor initiatives
•    Ensure individual and team performance meets objects and client expectations
•    Ensure the completion and maintenance of P&L statements
•    Bring value through efficient operations, appropriate cost controls, and profit management
•    Follow all applicable policies, rules, and regulations

Qualifications

•    2+ years management experience in a food and beverage operation
•    Basic cooking skills are required to work from our PRIMA recipe database
•    Ability to manage food and labour costs – input data toward P&L statements
•    Experience with ordering and inventory processes and documentation
•    Strong interpersonal skills are required
•    Must be computer literate to work within various programs such as on-line ordering
•    Ability to maintain effective client rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships
•    Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service using Aramark’s standard service model
•    Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
•    Must pass a Criminal Background check and Enhanced Reliability federal clearance

The pay range for this position is $55,000.00 - $60,000.00.
