Job Description

The Concession Stand Lead is responsible for the overall operation of a concession location

including directing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, maintaining food safety and quality.

They train, supervise and direct the concession stand employees ensuring adherence to

company standards, manage and complete inventory each event along with maintaining a

clean, organized and safe work environment.

Job Responsibilities

A successful Concession Stand Lead will be responsible for:

  • Supervise and direct staff within their assigned concession location, ensuring adherence to company policies and standards.
  • Ensure excellent customer service, creating a positive and efficient experience for all guests.
  • Addressing customer inquiries, resolving minor issues if required and escalating more complex problems to your supervisor.
  • Ensure attendants are properly operating the point-of-sale system, ringing in transactions and collecting payments.
  • Ensuring food is prepared and handled safely following hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor the preparation and assembling of food and beverages, ensuring completed according to established recipes and guidelines.
  • Adhering to established procedures and policies for food & beverage preparation, credit/debit/cash and customer service.
  • Adhering to all Government regulations, laws and in-house policies on Responsible Alcohol Service.
  • Managing inventory and daily paperwork including the completing of opening and closing counts, waste tracking, product during event transfers, and product re-stock ordering.
  • Ensure the concession locations operate smoothly and efficiently, including setup, shut down and maintaining a clean, organized and stocked work area.

Qualifications

  • Friendly, welcoming and able to interact with customers and co-workers in a positive manner.
  • Clear and effective communication with customers and team members.
  • Serve Right Certification and a minimum age of 18 to serve in the Province of Nova Scotia.
  • Ability to use a point-of-sale (POS) system for order taking and payment processing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; handling multiple tasks and working under pressure at times.
  • Ability to train and supervise staff.
  • Understanding of proper food handling and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team promoting a positive culture.
  • Ability to follow and also provide directions.
  • Flexibility; willingness to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Frequently lifting and carrying items such as food supplies, prepared menu items and beverages often and may be up to 30 lbs.
  • Repetitive hand and arm movements and motions such as preparing food & beverage orders, entering orders into the point-of-sale system, restocking items.
  • Stand Leads need to bend and reach to access items, serve customers and clean surfaces.
  • Ability to work in a variety of conditions including variable temperatures, and potentially around wetness, noise and other hazards.
  • Potential for working in some locations with limited space.
  • Slips, trips and falls; uneven surfaces, spilled liquids or tripping over equipment.
  • Cuts and burns; working with sharp objects such as knives or food processing equipment and hot surfaces such as fryers, steamers and roller grills.
  • Muscle strain and fatigue; lifting items, repetitive motions and prolonged standing.
  • Exposure to cleaning agents may cause skin irritations or respiratory problems.
  • Sanitizers can lead to skin irritation or accidental ingestion.
  • Common allergens such as peanuts and dairy can cause allergic reactions.
