Scotia Centre - Halifax
Aramark Sports + Entertainment is looking to hire a catering supervisor (seasonal) to support the food and beverage operations at the Scotia Centre - home to Halifax Mooseheads.
Catering Supervisor position is a key role in our Catering Team. Under general supervision of the General Manager, the individual will be responsible for assisting with all food and beverage services and quality throughout the catering department, including backstage catering, VIP events, bar service, in-house dining, team services etc.
Job Responsibilities

- Lead and execute banquet and catering events including, but not limited to, set up and tear down.
- Hands-on Supervisor providing guidance to the catering team with positive motivation and effective communication
- Create and communicate Banquet Event Orders as required for all concerts and other catering events.
- Place timely orders with suppliers and create the invoice for GM review and approval.
- Monitor and take corrective action to ensure service is compliance with Aramark policies and procedures, as well as Health and Safety Standards
- Maintain all serving schedules as stipulated on the Banquet Event Orders; ensure that all food items are delivered and served in a timely manner
- Ensure tables, buffets, bars and service areas are kept clean and set accordingly based off Aramark Catering standards and proper procedure
- Uphold and Maintain food production & storage to ensure the safety and quality of food according to policies, procedures, and department requirements.
- Ensure all catering storage areas and equipment are kept clean and organized.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 30lbs
- Ability to walk or stand for extended time periods
- Maintain and implement daily and monthly inventory counts, shift briefs, stock shortages, maintenance and wastage records
- Involves working with chemicals, heated equipment, steam and other risk conditions
- Cross-training and work in other locations at the venue as needed including other administrative duties in the office that may or may not be directly related to catering.
- May be responsible for opening and closing of events during irregular hours

Qualifications

• 1-year supervisory experience
• Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions in English
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Strong Communication & Organizational Skills
• Maintain emotional control under stress• Excellent Guest Service Skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Excellent Guest Service Skills with managing VIP Clientele and ability to work in a team environment
• Ideal candidate has a flexible schedule to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays for QMJHL Hockey games, backstage catered events for concerts and other catered events as required
• Enjoys working in a lively, fast-paced environment
• Well-groomed and professional attire (follow Aramark standards for uniform and grooming)• Ability to perform basic arithmetic
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel)
• Must be Safe Serve Certified
Knowledge and previous experience with Clover and Tapin2 point of sale systems is an asset
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).

The pay range for this position is $21.25 - $21.25.
