Job Description
Aramark is looking to hire a Bookkeeper at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the largest multipurpose facility in Atlantic Canada and the hub for major events in Nova Scotia. As the region’s premier venue for sports and entertainment, our facility is proudly home to the Halifax Mooseheads, the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, and the Halifax Thunderbirds.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join our team on an hourly basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the finance team with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks.
Job Responsibilities
A successful Bookkeeper will be responsible for:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
- Reconcile accounts, bank statements, and credit card statements
- Process accounts payable and receivable
- Maintain general ledger and assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare financial reports as needed
- Assist with payroll processing
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting regulations
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding financial matters

Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team promoting a positive culture.
- Ability to follow directions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
