Aramark Canada is currently seeking a Baker 2 to join the Dalhousie Food Services team! In conjunction with the Baker 2, the Baker 1 is responsible for leading the preparation, execution, and presentation of all items in the Dal Food Services Baker Shop!

Job Responsibilities

  • Determine production requirements of all bake shop items
  • Receive products
  • Mentor those in positions of lower classifications
  • Prepare dough based products
  • Prepare batter based products
  • Prepare creams, mousses, frozen desserts, fillings, icings
  • Prepare savory and sweet pastries and pies
  • Clear communication to other departments and supervisory team
  • Knowledge and experience of both manual and power kitchen tools
  • Maintains continual cleaning and sanitizing of surrounding work area
  • Adhere to all Aramark policies and procedures
  • Assist other front of the house stations as required
  • Additional duties may be assigned

Qualifications

  • Ability to execute all duties of a Baker 2
  • 2+ years baking/culinary experience
  • Leadership experience considered an asset
  • Journeyman or Red Seal Certification in the Baking trade or equivalent is considered an asset
  • Valid WHMIS and Food Safe Advanced Certifications are mandatory, First Aid is an asset
  • Must be able to work effectively and efficiently, supervised and unsupervised
  • Requires frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs.
  • Requires occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
