Job Description
At Aramark Alcohol Compliance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of alcohol service compliance within the arena, ensuring adherence to the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation regulations, municipal by-laws, and internal policies in coordination with Aramark and the Ottawa Senators. This role supports a safe and responsible drinking environment for guests while protecting the organization’s liquor license.
Job Responsibilities

Compliance & Oversight
- Ensure all alcohol service areas (concessions, clubs, suites, portable bars) operate in full compliance with AGCO regulations and arena policies.
- Conduct routine compliance checks before and during events (e.g., valid Smart Serve certifications, proper signage, no service past legal cut-off times).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AGCO rules, including Special Occasion Permit requirements if applicable.
- Monitor for overservice, intoxication, or service to minors; intervene when necessary.
- Report, document, and escalate any violations, incidents, or refusals of service to the appropriate individuals.
Training & Support
- Verify that all alcohol service staff are Smart Serve certified and maintain valid credentials.
- Assist with ongoing responsible alcohol service training.
- Coach staff on best practices for guest safety, ID verification, and de-escalation techniques.
Event Operations
- Act as the primary point of contact for alcohol-related concerns during events.
- Support security and management with incident response, supporting guest removal situations if needed.
- Ensure all required alcohol-related documentation (incident reports, inventory records) is completed accurately.
Risk Management & Reporting
- Conduct regular audits of alcohol storage and service areas to ensure compliance and prevent theft/shrinkage.
- Maintain records of incidents, compliance checks, and training for internal review and AGCO inspections.
- Provide post-event feedback to management, recommending process improvements where needed.

Qualifications

- Smart Serve certification (mandatory).
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in food & beverage operations, preferably in a high-volume or event venue environment.
- Strong knowledge of AGCO alcohol regulations and best practices for responsible service.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive situations calmly, politely and professionally.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
