Title: Executive Chef

As we continue to grow and expand our culinary expertise, we’re looking for a skilled Chef who can help bring authentic Korean cuisine to life.
We’re looking for a Chef with strong expertise in Korean cuisine who can lead the kitchen in delivering high-quality food, excellent customer service, and innovative menu offerings. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll take a hands-on approach to team development, Korean menu execution, food safety, client relations, and operational performance. This role also plays a key part in supporting budget targets, driving sales growth, and creating memorable guest experiences through authentic and well-executed Korean cuisine.
- Deliver excellence in food service and customer service
- Develop innovative menus strategically for the location
- Deliver company driven initiatives in service, food and safety at a high level
- Develop and build catering business
- Coordinate and supervise personnel regarding production, merchandising, quality and cost control, labour, scheduling, staffing and training
- Train and develop team for outstanding customer service
- Identify and develop talent within the team
- Ensure that standards for sanitation and food safety are met
- Monitor financial operating results to achieve company and client objectives
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for all business sectors
- Maintain records to comply with Aramark, and government standards
- Ensure compliance with Marketing and Human Resources Programs
- Ensure adherence to Aramark’s policies and procedures
- Ensure adherence to Aramark’s Health and Safety Programs
Qualifications:
- Bilingual communication skills in English and Korean to support team leadership, training, and clear communication in a multicultural kitchen environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with Korean-speaking team members, vendors, or clients is considered an asset
- Formal training or demonstrated expertise in Korean cuisine, including traditional flavour profiles, ingredients, fermentation, and core preparation techniques
- Experience preparing and presenting authentic Korean dishes such as bibimbap, bulgogi, japchae, kimchi, stews, and Korean barbecue offerings with consistency and high quality
- Strong knowledge of Korean pantry items and sauces, including gochujang, doenjang, ganjang, sesame oil, and banchan preparation, with the ability to build culturally authentic and guest-appealing menus
- Ability to train and lead kitchen teams in Korean cooking methods, recipe standardization, portion control, plating, and food quality execution
- Experience sourcing specialty Korean ingredients, managing inventory for high-volume production, and maintaining food safety standards while delivering authentic culinary experiences
- Minimum 3years in a leadership role
- Schedule must allow flexibility for some evenings, weekends and early mornings. Main shifts Monday-Friday
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict management abilities.
- Savvy with computers: working through word processing programs, maneuvering through different systems used for operational tracking
- Self-directed with strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience working in a Korean restaurant or food service operation serving authentic Korean cuisine
- Red seal preferred or equivalent training certificate

The pay range for this position is $70,000.00 - $85,000.00.
