Job Description

Reporting to the General Manager of Support Services, the Hospitality Food Services Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day hands-on operation of the Food Services department at a brand-new Senior Living Facility in Edmonton. 
In addition to supervising the food service, this role includes daily communication and interaction with the residents, family members, dietitians, and other staff to continuously work towards improving the environment and quality of services.
 

Job Responsibilities

    Ensures all meals are produced and delivered appropriately; oversees daily delivery of service
•    Demonstrates a proactive approach regarding client concerns and expectations
•    Responsible to ensure equipment is in proper operating condition; arrange for repairs as required
•    Supervises 8-9 cooking and dietary aide staff – covers shift in absence of dietary staff
•    Conducts daily food and service audits and performs rounds on Unit leads and residents
•    Performs food and sanitization log audits, daily menu postings, weekly food, and supply orders
•    Assists with coordinating front-line jobs and duties; covers sick and vacation time as needed
•    Assists with staff schedules to ensure full staff complement during regular shifts as needed
•    Coordinates catering, special project work; assists with Aramark programs and controls

Qualifications

•    Exceptional verbal communication skills to effectively interact with residents and family members
•    High patience threshold, ability to remain calm, stay positive, and love taking care of people
•    3-5 years Hospitality/Food Service experience preferably in a healthcare or resident facility
•    Post-secondary education in hospitality or nutrition management is preferred
•    Understanding of FST – Food & Science Technology, WHIMS, OH&S, and Infection Control
•    Experience and ability to work in a fast- paced environment with physical requirements
•    Must be available to work Monday – Friday from 10:30AM – 6PM shift; some flexibility required
