Job Description
Reporting to the Manager of Support Services, the F&B Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day hands-on operation for entire food and beverage operation, including quality control, staffing, event preparation, kitchen operations, dining room operations at the facility. Will work towards continuously improving the environment and quality of services.
Job Responsibilities
- Conducts daily audits.
- Rounds on Unit leads and resident’s minimum of once daily.
- Perform project work.
- Support and supervision of cook staff.
- Supervision of dietary aid staff
- Generates weekly orders for food and supplies.
- Ensures all elements of meals are produced and delivered appropriately.
- Provides supervision of meal delivery at active point of service
- Covers shift in absence of dietary staff.
- Assists with preparation of schedules for staff and modifies schedules as required to ensure full staff complement during regular shifts, as needed.
- Assists with the implementation of ARAMARK programs and controls.
- Performs food and sanitization log audits.
- Demonstrates a proactive approach with regard to client concerns and expectations.
- Coordinate’s catering, special project work, and other activities that effect the daily operation of the Foodservices Department.
- Responsible for ensuring equipment is in proper operating condition and arranging for repairs as needed.
- Assists with the coordination and implementation of front-line job routines and duties.
- Covers sick and vacation time as needed.
- Responsible for rotation of audit logs, daily menu postings
- Performs all other duties as required.
Qualifications
Mandatory:
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively with residents and co-workers.
• Must have the physical capabilities required for constant walking and performing project work
• In addition, incumbent must be flexible and adapt easily to changes in schedule, work assignments and environment. Must be willing and capable of working in fast paced environment.
• Provide a clean Criminal Record Check
Preferred:
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Foodservices/Hospitality within a medium or large healthcare organization
• Degree in hospitality/nutrition management or equivalent
• Knowledge and understanding of regulatory such as Advanced FST, WHMIS, OH&S and Infection Control
WORKING CONDITIONS:
In a Senior Living operation, you are working with senior residents or individuals with physical and mental disabilities / challenges. Individuals who are successful in this environment are folks who have high threshold of patience, ability to maintain a calm and positive attitude and who loves to take care of people.
Senior Living operations do not shut down for bad weather conditions, these operations are working 24/7 – 365 days. There is no work from home situations and hence it’s very important to ensure that folks who are working here are aware that they and their staff need to have appropriate ways of getting to / from work & occasionally alternative options.
OTHER:
This is a full-time permanent position with weekend work a minimum of every second weekend. Must be available evenings.
