Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Food Services, the Dietary Aide supports the daily food service operations at Edgewater Gardens.
This role plays a key part in delivering safe, nutritious meals while providing a welcoming and respectful dining experience for residents.
The successful candidate demonstrates a commitment to hospitality, dignity, and quality service in a healthcare setting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure all food service equipment is safe and in proper working condition, including daily pre-use checks
  • Follow resident meal service instructions and dietary requirements accurately
  • Deliver meals in accordance with therapeutic diets and care plans
  • Uphold Aramark hospitality standards during all resident interactions
  • Stock and replenish supplies to support uninterrupted service
  • Complete required food safety, sanitation, and audit logs
  • Complies with all health and safety regulations, policies, and best practices
  • Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, including daily sweeping and adherence to master cleaning schedules
  • Respond proactively and respectfully to resident needs and concerns
  • Ensure daily menus are posted and communicated clearly
  • Support team operations and perform additional duties as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of food service experience, ideally in a healthcare or senior living environment
  • Completion of an approved Institutional Dietary Aide course (MOHLTC preferred)
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and team members
  • Physically able to perform duties requiring standing, walking, and lifting
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and a fast-paced environment
  • Completion of required training through MyWorkLife or equivalent platforms
  • Must complete a Vulnerable Sector Check as per site requirements

The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $23.50.
