Food Service Manager – School Dining Program


We’re looking for a Food Service Manager who’s passionate about great food, great people, and creating a welcoming dining experience for students and faculty.


In this role, you’ll oversee the day to day culinary operation, bring creativity to a fully kosher-certified program, and build a welcoming dining experience for students and faculty. If you are creative, have strong operational knowledge, and enjoy hands-on team leadership this is the perfect opportunity.


You’ll report to the General Manager and serve as the operational lead for the school—balancing flavour, fun, and flawless execution in a warm, community-centered environment.

Job Responsibilities

•    Lead the team to deliver consistently nutritious, kosher meals while always providing warm, friendly service
•    Ensure full compliance with Kosher Check standards as administered by the Orthodox Rabbinical Council of British Columbia (BCK)
•    Ensure all food production, service, storage, and procurement comply with kosher laws and standards in a fully kosher-certified kitchen
•    Conduct regular inspections to confirm proper separation of meat, dairy, and pareve items; appropriate cleaning and koshering procedures; and correct labelling and handling throughout the facility
•    Act as the primary point of contact with the certifying rabbinical authority, supporting site visits, facilitating compliance reviews, and maintaining required kosher documentation
•    Train and support team members in kosher procedures including proper separation of meat, dairy and pareve items, and correct implementation of koshering and cleaning processes
•    Bring food, service, and safety programs to life every day
•    Grow the catering side of the business for school events and special community occasions
•    Oversee production, merchandising, quality control, labour management, scheduling, staffing, and training
•    Coach and develop your team using Aramark’s Service Excellence platform
•    Maintain exceptional sanitation and food safety standards
•    Manage financial performance to meet company and client goals
•    Build and manage budgets, forecasts, and business plans
•    Ensure accurate and timely reporting
•    Maintain records that meet Aramark and government requirements
•    Support Marketing initiatives, HR programs, and overall site culture
•    Champion Aramark’s policies, procedures, and Health & Safety standards

Qualifications

  • •    Previous experience working in a kosher-certified food service environment is strongly preferred
    •    A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management (or related field) is an asset
    •    5+ years of progressive leadership experience in a similar operation is an asset
    •    Strong leadership and organizational skills — you know how to bring out the best in a team
    •    Solid analytical, planning, and financial management abilities
    •    Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients, the school community, and colleagues

Compensation Data

Salary Range (based on experience): $53,045 – $65,776 CAD per year
