Aramark Canada is looking for an Operations Manager who will be responsible for the full operation of housekeeping, and resident laundry in a multi service environment that includes Long Term Care, Daily Assisted Living.

The Operations Manager is responsible for the facilities contract and its financial accountability, and compliance with the standards established by Aramark Healthcare, regulatory agencies and client. Leads departments of all services managed.  Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with other departments to provide a unified experience for patients, residents, visitors, and employees.

Job Responsibilities

•    Plans, administers and directs all unit activities related to facilities services, including housekeeping operations.
•    Demonstrates strong leadership, ownership and accountability while managing supervisors and front-line employees who are integral to maintaining healthy, clean and sanitized healthcare environments.
•    Provides supportive leadership that builds trust, security and employee satisfaction through demonstrated competence, consistency and a willingness to serve.
•    Provides overall direction and manages employee performance, development and engagement while ensuring compliance with human resources policies and standards.
•    Manages personnel functions, including recruitment, hiring, training, onboarding, evaluation, performance management and, when required, terminations in collaboration with Human Resources.
•    Develops work schedules, maintains adequate staffing and supervises housekeeping employees across all shifts to ensure work is completed in accordance with established cleaning, sanitation and infection prevention and control standards.
•    Inspects facility cleanliness, sanitation, and infection control practices, and ensures corrective action is taken where necessary.
•    Establishes and maintains housekeeping standards and recognizes operational practices appropriate to the specific needs and age-related considerations of the patient and resident population.
•    Ensures compliance with disinfection requirements, workplace safety standards, all contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and Aramark and facility directives.
•    Interacts with Client Management and maintains effective client and customer relationships at all levels of the client organization, including conducting regular rounding and identifying opportunities to expand Aramark services.
•    Develops operational forecasts, explains variances and is responsible for the component's accounting functions and financial performance.
•    Maintains required controls and documentation for Aramark programs, including operations logs and records, housekeeping and account records, weekly inspections, monthly summaries, monthly joint review meetings, daily hour controls, safety systems and other required program records.
•    Completes or delegates monthly Resident Survey targets, Housekeeping Audits through Facility Fit Pro (FFP), and BTI audits with the client.
•    Completes or delegates required Safe Briefs, Safe Observations, Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings, and workplace inspections.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's Degree or Diploma is an asset.
•    Requires 5+year’s progressive experience managing operations with $1 - $2 million financial and operational responsibility. Multi-service experience would be considered an asset. 
•    Healthcare Environmental, Facility engineering role in large complex site preferred.
•    Familiarity with PIDAC (Provincial Infectious Disease Advisory Committee) is an asset
•    Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) effectively with clients, customers of the client and support staff.
•    P&L accountability and/or contract-managed service experience is desirable.
•    Requires management and leadership skills and the ability to work with confidential employee, client, and Aramark information.
