Job Description

Leads a team of approximately 25 staff in food, housekeeping, and resident laundry services. Performs and/or delegates tasks such as hiring, training, coaching and administrative duties for employees and customers of AgeCare Mount Royal. Maintains all records and ensures all audit compliance. Works with no immediate supervision and accomplishes tasks in a fast-paced environment following both client and company guidelines

Job Responsibilities

1.    Responsible for the full operation of foodservices, housekeeping, and resident laundry in a multi service environment that includes Long Term Care, Assisted Living, and Independent Living 
2.    Incorporates principles of person-centered care into all aspects of the operations
3.    Liaison between Aramark direct reports and Client representatives
4.    Responsible for all aspects of menu and nourishment cycle development and evaluation in conjunction and collaboration with site Dietitian and Aramark Corporate Menu Development team
5.    Organizes/delegates preparation and delivery of all resident and client catered functions
6.    Prepares annual budget with ongoing review, monitoring and approval of all revenues and expenses
7.    Participates in client contract negotiations
8.    Participates in the development and presentation of annual business reviews 
9.    Prepares monthly report for client
10.    Performs/delegates monthly Food Safe Audit
11.    Performs/delegates bi annul Resident Satisfaction Survey
12.    Performs/delegates monthly Housekeeping Audits
13.    Participates in client requested meetings ie monthly Leadership meetings
14.    Participates in Resident Council monthly meetings
15.    Participates/delegates attendance in all client committees 
16.    Prepares for and participates in PIR audits, Government Accommodation Standards, Accreditation, 
17.    Attends Aramark meetings and functions
18.    Ensures compliance with Aramark audits and Business Conduct Policy
19.    Performs/delegates all work in accordance with Client and Aramark policies and procedures, including but not limited to, quality assurance items and all Health & Safety initiatives 
20.    Organizes/delegates all Human Resources functions, including recruiting, training, coaching, scheduling, payroll, and employee performance management. Consults with Aramark HR team as appropriate
21.    Implements/delegates, monitors, and reports all employee recognition functions
22.    Maintains/delegates input for all Aramark systems including but not limited to E4W, GFF, Kronos, GMM
23.    Organizes/delegates regular staff meetings
24.    Maintains current knowledge of best practice in seniors living. Identifies emerging trends and incorporates into the environment
25.    Displays polite, spirit-of-service attitude towards residents, clients, care-partners and co-workers.  Maintains friendly, efficient, and responsive attitude toward client and residents while performing job duties.
26.    Investigates resident, family, and employee concerns and complaints with focus on follow up and appropriate resolution.
27.    Investigates/delegates all employee injuries and near misses with focus on recommendations for prevention of future incidents. Liaises with the Aramark Safety team on incidents. 
28.    Performs all other duties as required

Qualifications

Mandatory:



•    Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
•    Must successfully complete the required training program within the defined probationary period.
•    Must have the ability to communicate effectively with residents, clients, staff, and co-workers.
•    Must have the physical capabilities required for light lifting and frequent walking
•    In addition, incumbent must be flexible and adapt easily to changes in schedule, work assignments and environment.  Must be willing and capable of working in fast paced environment.

 

Preferred:

 

•    Minimum 2-year College Diploma with a Management, Hotel/Restaurant or Dietetic specialty, or 5 years related experience. 
•    Provinces not Ontario: Current registration with the Canadian Society of Nutrition Managers or Provincial College of Dietitians

Provincial or other vocational or professional certification or degree:
•    Advanced Food Safety Certification
•    Must provide clear Criminal Record check and vulnerable sector screen

Previous Experience Required:
•    5 years minimum experience in Management in a Healthcare environment.

Special skills/training needed to perform job or operate equipment:
•    Word, Office 365 and Excel knowledge is required
•    Equipment: Computer, telephone, photocopier, tablet

Individuals who are successful in this environment are folks who have high threshold of patience, ability to maintain a calm and positive attitude and who loves to take care of people. 

Senior Living operations do not shut down for bad weather conditions, these operations are working 24/7 – 365 days. There is no work from home situations and hence it’s very important to ensure that folks who are working here are aware that they and their staff need to have appropriate ways of getting to / from work & occasionally alternative options.

The pay range for this position is $65,000.00 - $70,019.00.
